The American West

This enabled the farmers to settle in the once barren areas of the West. With these new found land, farmers used methods of "dry farming" to adapt to the droughts when growing their crops. When their news of success spread, the govt financed irrigation projects that allowed the west to benefit economically. The population also grew because of the Homestead Act which allured many farmers to these areas. *5 Due to the great successes of the Miners, cattlemen and the farmers the West was benefited by a great population, economically and blessed with a newfound culture that will echo through the ages.…
