Case Study - Managing Change

The traits that mentioned above are not necessarily those born within a person. On this issue, I would prefer to hold the perspective that leaders are in fact born with the particular traits that make them successful and influential instead of the view that any persons are 'born' (so to speak) to assume the position of leadership in a natural way. It is in recognising and utilising these God-given potentials that a good leader is thus made. In fact, traits do not fully guarantee effective leadership - just greater likelihood. This making of a leader has of course much to do with the background and environment in which one is chanced to be born into, further enhancing and increasing the opportunity to exercise and develop those innate skills and abilities. This supports the presupposition that it is our background that makes us who we are. In that respect, I do acknowledge that there are those leaders who have been endowed with the necessary traits that help make them effective. Yet, most often, as it is in my case, a leader is made through the valuable lessons learned from education, opportunities and life itself.…
