Just like a coin, knowledge has two seemingly disparate yet connected sides: theory and practice. Practice is not possible without a sound theoretical basis and there is not much use for a theory that can not be utilized and proven on practical grounds. The notion of knowledge would be inconceivable without the distinction between these two very related terms. By using the same method, we can make a distinction between knowledge from books (impersonal knowledge) and from (personal) experience.
