The Walk of Fame runs 1.3 miles (2.1 km) east to west on Hollywood Boulevard.
The stars recognize an eclectic mix of actors, musicians, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters, and others for their entertainment contributions.

The Hollywood Sign is a famous landmark in the Hollywood Hills area. The iconic sign spells out the name of the area in 45-foot-tall (14 m) and 350-foot-long (110 m) white letters. It was created as an advertisement in 1923.
