The Iron Curtain was generally agreed to have gone by 1990, with the disintegration of Soviet influence in Eastern Europe and the collapse of the Union itself in 1991. New-born European countries were looking forward to establish close partnership with Capitalist European countries and to become members of democratic Europe associations. The most important was considered European Community – what become transformed into European Union (EU) with Maastricht Treaty on 1993. For its part the first enlargement of EU in East direction occurred only on 2004 in Copenhagen.…
