Acid rain

Avalanches
January 2003 - eight students were swept away in a massive fall of loose snow in Tatras mountains
December 2009 – two people have died in an avalanche which swept down a mountain in the Tatras Range

Suggestions to provide safety
Floods - construct barriers to stop floodwater from entering the building, elevate the furnace, water heater, and electric panel if susceptible to flooding.
Thunderstorms - remove dead or rotting trees and branches that could fall and cause injury or damage during a severe thunderstorm, avoid showering or bathing during the storm, plumbing and bathroom fixtures can conduct electricity.
