The North Atlantic Treaty Organization and a Few Current Issues Surrounding the Existence of NATO

America is the strongest and most powerful military force in the world. No other military can measure up to our military force. Being part of NATO seems to me, like America is just obligated to take care of a bunch of other countries. America is and has always been "the nice guy" in the international community. We put our nose into issues and wars that in reality we really don't need to be a part of. I believe foreign affairs are important, and keeping up a healthy relationship with other countries is vital to our economy and well being. However incidents such as Kosovo and the Vietnam War, are two instances where I believe America needed to back off. I didn't agree at all with our actions concerning Kosovo. NATO should have let Kosovo be, since we had no real reason for being a part of their war.
I do not believe expanding NATO is important or necessary right now. I think after what has happened on September 11th, this is more of a test of the other member countries of NATO to test their own willingness to help America. …
