Magnetic Anomalies

This continental movement is because of spreading on mid- ocean ridges.
Investigations in mid- ocean ridges and discovery of marine magnetic anomalies might be one of the biggest discoveries in history of Earth’s exploring. It explained volcanic and earthquake activities under the sea and gave a key to explaining tectonic plate movement. After this discovery further investigations were made and theory was developed more successfully.
