East Europe’s Transition

The triumph of liberalism was a surprise for everybody. For many it was a dream come true and at the beginning the collapse of the Soviet Union was accompanied with great enthusiasm and big expectations about fast and successful transition to democracy and common free market that would secure successful development. In reality all turned out to be much more complicated.
