Develop a Country in Crisis with the Help of Culture

Today the financial crisis has affected most of the world countries, including my homeland -Latvia. Due to this complex situation, the government has identified sectors of priority, among which the budgetary resources will be divided. The main idea is to support only those sectors and to promote their retention, development and sustainability. Currently, there are only a few areas of priority - such as economy, politics and national defence. However, as a student of the cultural sector, I am particularly interested in the development of culture and field of arts, because it is part of my future. I am truly disappointed that the Latvian government has neglected cultural sector, and that they underestimate significance of culture in the general development of our country.…
