Competition in High School

Out of the many challenges and problems that be face, it seems as if none are as overbearing as coping with competition. However, few can argue in favor of a world devoid of it. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines competition as "to strive consciously or unconsciously for an objective" and "a contest between rivals." While this definition provides a good general understanding of the word, it lacks the realistic perspective that we face daily.
