Building a Secure Future, Seeking Practical Solutions

Homo homini lupus est… Are you afraid of me? You definitely should as I come from the country from nowhere and I definitely want to take your job, beat up your friends and stay in your country forever…
People live in constant fear of something. It is normal, of course, but the problem starts if you look at me and see not an individuality but a representative of country, religion or any other group. The worse, if you are afraid of me. It is called xenophobia and besides it, one can observe racism and intolerance in general.
There are several reasons why I chose to talk about it. First, one can only wonder how such a phenomena has survived through so long centuries and is still actual. Although, so much effort is used to combat racism, it develops new forms and continues to destroy the peace. Second, it is only world wide organizations that see it as a problem while citizens of countries deny the existence of it (4). Third, with the enlargement of European Union, people from new countries face a different situation in Europe and I have experienced it myself. Consequently, in my essay I am writing how I personally combated xenophobia against me and what it meant for others. In addition, I give my personal suggestions to fight against racism and xenophobia in effective way with far going positive consequences.
The main concept of my ideology is that people should take the initiative themselves to learn more about each other, they should not be afraid to ask or to be asked. Moreover, young people should use more effectively possibilities provided to explore the world by such financed programs as YOUTH, Socrates and Erasmus. In addition, local governments should pay much more attention to education and teaching languages as it is a key for a secure future.…
